Christmas that is, and now I am thinking, this story, what am I doing with it, am I going to get my butt into gear and finish the first draft so I can move on and start the rewrites? I hope so, but for some reason, I seem to have looped back around to procrastination station.

So, while I haven’t been writing, at all, I have been thinking, thinking, thinking! And one of the things I’ve been thinking is the bones of my story is quite good, even if I do say so myself, but the meat is scrawny and flat. I need some fat on the bones, some juice in the meat! I even have ideas of how to bulk up! But, firstly I really need to finish the stinking first DRAFT!

Now that Christmas and all the excitement and business is done, I am going to dig deep, find myself some time and finish, so I can start.

Please feel free to join me for the ride  . . .

I’m not quite sure how I feel now about my WIP, I have written the story so far in the first person, then last night I was in the shower and had a thought, not a welcome thought at that!

I thought I should write the story from two perspectives, the main story as it is, with Maddy’s first person POV, and then also write a kind of subplot from either the aborginal woman’s POV, third person, or if that is too hard for me to understand the aboriginal perspective (so much to research as far as the Koori customs and beliefs for my first and probably unpublished novel LOL).

Or to change the aboriginal character to a convict character and write it from her perspective. Or just leave it and finish the first draft???

I think for now, I will finish the first draft.
